I never thought I'll ever need this application.
But once I needed to copy of a "word card" from ABBYY Lingo 12. The thing is when you simply copy a card it looses all formatting, some words got missed and my boss definitely would not be satisfied by that.
Retyping takes too much time, especially if you need to copy 100 fragments. So I strained my brains and recalled a small bit of information. Once I've heard of a screenshot reader. It is a utility included into FineReader pack.
How does it work?
Start a Screenshot Reader. It appears as a little panel in the screen about 100 pixels in length.
Then you simply press "capture" button and select an area for a screenshot. Program instantly makes a screenshot and recognizes it. In a few seconds (depends of an area size you selected) data is copied into clipboard. Now you can open any word application and copy data. Or press ctrl+v.
I liked that all possible formatting is saved. The only little problem is need to check a data because some symbols might be incorrect. But in my case the recognition was very good.
After usin this program at the first time I’ve figured out the second usage of the utility: PDF files reading. There is no need to convert something – just use a screenshot of a paragraph you need.
Here is a link – and have a good luck with your screenshots.
